The Haven Conference, a design & DIY blogging conference, is the premier conference for bloggers in the southeast. Attracting hundreds of bloggers from all over the United States (and beyond), the ability to meet other bloggers and the companies that support them is invaluable. This being my first Haven Conference, I was surprised by the scale of it all. Taking place in a large majority of the Grand Hyatt Hotel, in Atlanta, GA, this is one of the most unique and diverse conferences I’ve attended yet.
With sponsors like Home Depot, Ryobi, Kreg, and StrongTie, the Haven Conference allows you to network with decision makers in the industry and get a feel on what’s out there. This information, especially for bloggers like myself, is integral. Unlike some of the conferences/tradeshows I’ve attended before, Haven had several breakout sessions where speakers did live demos, small scale builds and also spoke on several important matters like “Instagram Tips & Tricks”, “Integrating Video into your Blog”, and “Google Analytics/Webmaster Tools.” These customizable sessions allowed me to make Haven my own and get the exact information I needed from the conference.
While it might be hard for some to swallow the $300 price tag, as a prior skeptic myself, I can honestly say that it was more than worth it in the long run. The new blogger friends I made along with the great professional contacts have catapulted my blogging career in a way that only Haven could accomplish. Not only will I definitely be attending next years, but I am already counting down the days.
